Cravings!!!

For those of us who love a late night snack and need to have both sweet and salty at the same time these are the perfect cure.

Check out this recipe from one of my favorite bloggers...

I know I should have taken pictures of the whole process, but for this craving I just had to enjoy the baking.  Anyway, the pan was gone within the hour and only crumbs were left to tell the story.  No, I didn't eat them all...I have a couple late night snackers help me out.  You have to love little ones who are always eager for chocolate, and the chance to stay up a couple extra minutes with Mommy :)

I love camelcamelcamel.com!

I happened to stumble on a blog to find this site as one of her favorites.  Being on a budget this site is amazingly helpful.  The purpose is to track items that you'd like off the amazon.com website.  I have been amazed at the prices tracked this far.  I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my email yesterday to find one of my items had dropped to below my desired price.  When can you find a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker below $30???  I bought it immediately knowing that within hours the price may jump back up.  And indeed it did!  Amazon is one of my favorite online shopping sites, and this just made it a whole lot better.

A first after all these years...

Here I am at 31 years of age, and I've never been out with just ladies.  My hubby was amazed that this was not a common thing growing up.  I had to explain that any time I went out there were always boys mixed in the group.  It's strange to look back now and realize how much I missed.  Last night, I went to my first ladies night.  It was part of our community group that we started attending last month so I was excited to get to know them better.  Maybe it would have been different back in school, but one can only guess at this point.  I laughed to the point of tears and loved every minute.  It was nice to see how open everyone was about sharing life's ups and downs.  I haven't found a group of genuine people like that...ever!  No one was trying to be perfect or express how life was just exactly as they had planned all along.  If anything I understood just how much I've missed over these years.

Creation Festival 2011

We had an amazing time at the Creation Festival this past week.  The crowd reached an estimate of 115,000 people.  Although our journey started out a little rocky by traveling an hour in the wrong direction, we still made it in time to catch one our favorite worship leaders, Chris Tomlin.  We love the music, the speakers, and especially camping.   Before we even left home we had said this was our last time going to Creation.  By the end of our trip we were getting ready to order our tickets for 2012.  It's a tradition we want to keep in our family.

The speakers talked about what has the power over you.  What funeral did you need to have that night so that you could move closer to Jesus.  What was first in your life?   It could be something good, even your children.  Although God calls us to love our children, HE is to be first.  I know that I've been putting things before God not doing it intentionally.  The children are a big part of that, and its a hard balance when I'm centered around them daily.  I do know that when I do put HIM first everything else falls into place.  We are so blessed to have had this opportunity to share as a family.
