What's for dinner?

Summer is one of our favorite seasons for fresh veggies from the garden and lots of grill time.  Nothing tastes better than a fresh salad that you know came straight from the garden without any added chemicals.

Romaine in the garden
 Anyone want burgers?

Three cheese cheddar burgers
Our next step will be to make homemade ice cream from the fresh strawberries we picked this weekend.  Although the baking almost stops in the summer, we still have plenty of sweet treats to keep our palate happy!

A treat for Daddy

T-bone steak, roasted herb potatoes, ambrosia, and honey cornbread

After enjoying the Boston Red Sox win over the Brewers today, it was time to fire up the grill.   Of course, I don't touch the grill, so my hubby still had to barbecue today.  The kids were more excited about the dessert waiting in the refrigerator...

Banana Cream Pie (recipe)
Absolutely delicious!
Time to head outside and grab some shots of all the smiles.  Overall, a great day!  The weather was perfect, and I even "let" him beat me in a game of corn hole.

Father's Day Weekend

We are so excited to be celebrating the best dad this weekend.  My husband truly represents the world's greatest dad.  He takes the time to encourage our children daily, and always wants to be with them.  I've never had the duty of pushing him into a relationship with them; he does it with his arms wide open.  The kids in turn have created a special surprise for him this weekend, and its going to delight his heart.  Although I know he is going to enjoy his Bear Grylls camping gear as well.

What's on the menu?  Of course it has to be grilled!   Steak, potatoes, salads, homemade cornbread, and his favorite dessert banana cream pie.  I just can't wait to celebrate such an awesome man!

Our school days are numbered...

We are winding down with our studies for the spring semester.  Although, I am going to keep moving ahead with my precious girl this summer.  She started kindergarten materials in February and I want to keep progressing with her over the summer months.  She has caught on so well, and loves to learn.  She keeps me in line, and always reminds me that she is to go first during our school time.

The boys will be keeping busy with the Summer Reading Program at our local library.  The library plans many events throughout the summer months, and the reading never stops in our home.

Under Construction...

The beginning of a blogging journey is questioning whether or not my life is actually worth reading about.  I think that it's a great outreach is many different areas.  I feel like this is the best place to start.  I may not have the best grammar or perfect spelling, but I love to sit and type away whatever enters my mind.  As a woman, we all know that I could be sitting here for the rest of my life since my mind never ceases to stop thinking.   Now I just have to find one idea that may interest more than just myself.
